Wotton House Wedding – Sarah & Steve

We had great fun just before Christmas photographing Sarah & Steve’s wedding at Wotton House. Their ceremony was in the Old Library, this really is a beautiful room with lots of stone pillars and it looked fabulous with all the twinkling lights 🙂

Unbeknown to each other they had both arranged surprises for the reception, so we had Singing Waiters and Father Christmas delivering presents ! Weddings are great times to bring families together and when you put Christmas in to the mix as well this really is a magical time 🙂

For the photographers that follow my blog the whole wedding was shot using the Sony A7s and Sony A7r2 with the Zeiss Batis 25mm & 85mm lens. I’ve really been enjoying working with prime lenses. The quality that you can achieve is superb (the lens is designed to work very well at the fixed focal length rather than needing to be “ok” across a range). The Sony A7s provides superb low light performance and the A7r2 is great for filming as well as stills (4k internal recording). I’ve recently added a Rode Video Mic Pro to my kit bag and this was used quite a bit during this wedding 🙂

If you want to improve your Wedding Photography skills, or if this is something you would like to start doing, then I’m running a 2-day Wedding Photography Training Course in February.
